Making sense of dental insurance.
There are three basic types of dental insurance. Here's what each one means, and how we work with each.
PPO: Preferred Provider Organization
You choose from a network of dentists who have agreed to negotiated rates. Most PPO plans still offer some out-of-network benefits if you see a dentist outside the network. We are in-network with many PPO plans and also see plenty of patients whose PPO lists us as out-of-network. Either way, we will help you maximize your benefits.

Indemnity: Traditional Dental Insurance
You can see any dentist and receive benefits based on a set percentage of the procedure cost. We work with these plans regularly and use state-of-the-art billing technology to make sure you get every dollar you are owed.
HMO: Health Maintenance Organization
HMO plans assign patients to a single dental office and are often under-funded, making it difficult for practices to provide comprehensive care. Camarillo Smiles does not accept HMO, Denti-Cal, or Medi-Cal plans.
